Tilo Touch — Privacy Policy
This policy covers the Tilo Touch app for iPhone and iPad, published by Die Digitalen GmbH. Tilo Touch is made for children under five, and this page is written for the parent who installed it.
Tilo Touch has no accounts and no sign-in. Nobody tells it who they are, and it does not ask.
WHAT THE APP COLLECTS
Six things are recorded, and nothing else: opening one of the three sections, opening a video or sound, the subscription screen appearing, the subscription screen closing, a completed subscription, and changing the language.
Each one says which section, page and item it was about, the App Store product identifier when something was bought, and the app's version, build number and language setting. Apple's two categories for that are Product Interaction and Other Usage Data, which is what the app declares in its privacy manifest and what the App Store listing shows under App Privacy.
It is used to see which parts of the app children reach and where they stop. None of it is linked to a person, and none of it is used to track anyone.
WHAT THE APP DOES NOT COLLECT
No names, e-mail addresses, phone numbers or postal addresses. No photos, camera, microphone or location. No contacts, no calendar, no health data. No text, drawings, recordings or anything else a child could create — the app has nowhere to type or record.
No advertising of any kind, from us or from anyone else. No advertising identifier (IDFA). No tracking across other apps or websites. No profile is built about the person using the app, and no data is sold, rented or shared for anyone else's purposes.
HOW THE USAGE DATA IS HANDLED
Usage events go to PostHog EU Cloud, hosted in the European Union, which processes them for us and for nobody else.
Before an event leaves the device, the app replaces its contents with a fixed list of permitted fields. Everything the analytics library would otherwise attach — device model and name, operating system version, screen size, time zone, network status — is dropped. The list is a filter rather than a one-time cleanup, so a field a future library version invents is dropped too, without anyone having to notice it.
The app also instructs the server to discard the IP address the request arrived on, to skip any location lookup, and not to create a person record. It never calls the analytics library's identify function.
Events carry a random identifier that the app generates on first launch and keeps in its own private storage on the device. It is not Apple's advertising or vendor identifier, it is not readable by other apps, and deleting Tilo Touch deletes it.
WHAT STAYS ON THE DEVICE
The chosen language is stored on the device and never sent anywhere. All videos and sounds ship inside the app itself: playing them needs no connection and fetches nothing.
SUBSCRIPTIONS
Full access is sold as a weekly subscription through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment and tells the app only whether the subscription is active. We never see card details, billing addresses or your Apple Account.
Manage or cancel the subscription in your App Store settings. Apple's own privacy policy covers what Apple does with the purchase.
CHILDREN
Tilo Touch is in Apple's Kids Category for ages five and under. It shows no advertising, makes no recommendations based on behaviour, and collects nothing that could identify a child.
The app contains two links that leave it — Terms of Use and this policy, both on the subscription screen — and they sit behind a parental gate, along with the price and the purchase itself.
HOW LONG IT IS KEPT, AND YOUR RIGHTS
Usage events are kept for as long as they are useful for improving the app. The random identifier described above groups the events from one installation together, and that is all it does: nothing in them carries a name, an address or a device identifier, so we have no way to match an installation to a person — which also means we cannot pick out one person's events to show or delete on request.
Deleting the app stops the collection and discards the random identifier, so nothing further is sent. If you have a question about your rights under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection or the GDPR, write to us at the address below and we will answer.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
When the app changes what it collects, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. There is no separate archive; the page above is always the current version.
